Application Process

Application

S

t. Anselm’s Abbey School is one of the DC area independent schools now using Ravenna, a web-based service for online applications. With Ravenna, applicants and families are able to electronically request teacher recommendations, submit documentation online, and track the progress of their application.

The recommendation forms are common forms that are shared among multiple schools. Teachers can complete the forms once and then electronically submit them to any other Ravenna schools to which a student is applying.

New users will need to create a free account with Ravenna. The login and password you choose will be their gateway to the entire application process. Once you have created an account, select St. Anselm’s Abbey School to begin the process.  Click here for more information about the Ravenna system.

The application processes for Middle School and Upper School applicants are identical; however, Middle School applications are processed on a rolling basis, and Upper School applications are processed in keeping with the Archdiocese of Washington and The Association of Independent Schools of Greater Washington notification dates. For Upper School, the Ravenna application form is due on January 6, 2017 at 5:00 p.m.

Entrance Exams

All local applicants take two entrance exams: the OLSAT and the SCAT. Typically, Entrance Exams are offered on four Saturday mornings from November to February. Registration is available through Ravenna once you have created an account.

Notification Dates

Beginning in January, complete files are presented to the Admissions Committee for review, discussion and decision. The first round of admissions decision notifications will be mailed and sent digitally on Friday, February 24, 2017. Offers of admission are held open until Friday, March 17, 2017.

After Friday, March 17, 2017, the Committee continues to review application files and make offers of acceptance as space permits.

Registration & Enrollment

Acceptance packets contain all materials necessary to register and enroll a student.
