The Annual Fund: Supporting the St. Anselm's Experience
Each year, St. Anselm’s Abbey School relies on the generous support of our school community to help us provide the best possible Benedictine education to a diverse group of gifted young men. The Annual Fund, the school’s primary fundraising drive each year, makes it possible for us to keep tuition down while continuing to expand our curriculum and enrich the St. Anselm’s Experience.
Your Participation Counts
Strong Annual Fund participation is a sign of a tight-knit and supportive school community. It is our hope that all members of the St. Anselm’s community—parents, alumni, past parents, grandparents and other friends—will participate in this fund drive at whatever level is most comfortable for them.
Every Gift Makes a Difference
In the past, gifts to the Annual Fund have ranged from $5 to more than $10,000. No matter how much you choose to give, your participation serves as a tangible show of support for the monks, faculty and mission of St. Anselm’s Abbey School. Even a small gift can have a significant impact!
Designating Your Gift
You may direct your gift to the Annual Fund to any one or more of these categories:
Overall School Budget
Like almost all independent schools, St. Anselm's has to bridge a gap each year between our operating budget and tuition income. Annual Fund gifts allow us to meet yearly maintenance and facilities needs, expand our academic and extracurricular programs, and update technology and equipment in the classroom. In addition, when a high percentage of our school community makes even a small gift, this commitment helps our school to win grants from foundations and other institutional donors.
Support of the Abbey and Aging Monks
The Benedictine monks of St. Anselm’s Abbey founded our school in 1942 and continue to play a vital role in our school. The monastic community needs financial support to face the double challenge of providing medical care for its aging members and education and spiritual formation for new monks. This year there are four newly professed monks and two postulants in the monastery, and other men are in the process of applying.
Current-Year Financial Aid
St. Anselm’s is committed to remaining accessible to all academically gifted young men, regardless of their family’s financial circumstances. This year, the school has committed to provide $1,148,000 in scholarship aid to families to bring a St. Anselm’s education within reach for their sons. Annual Fund donations are a big part of what makes this possible.
