Admissions

Meet the Admissions Team

Brian Gilbert, Director of Admissions
  • My Roots: Grew up just outside of Philadelphia before heading to DC for college.
  • My Journey Here: I’ve spent over 20 years in DC Catholic schools as a Teacher, Campus Minister, and Dean. I was drawn to the Abbey by its reputation for inspired learning and the incredible sense of peace on this campus.
  • Favorite Abbey Tradition: At graduation where our seniors bow to each other to show the benedictine hallmarks of love, humility, and community as they enter and leave the ceremony.  Truly they are brothers for life.
Ask Me About: What makes the Abbey brotherhood so unique, and the best ways to experience our campus.
Fenner Gibson, Assistant Director of Admissions
  • My Roots: Proud Native Washingtonian.
  • My Journey Here: I spent more than a decade teaching English and history across the DMV. Seeing the intentional way the Abbey develops thoughtful, ethical young men is what inspires me every day.
  • Ask Me About: Making the transition to a new school, and all the ways our faculty support students.
Alex Edsall ’10, Admissions Ambassador
  • My Roles on Campus: I am the Physical Education Coordinator, the JV basketball and Middle School baseball coach, and an Admissions Ambassador.
  • Why I Came Back: The brotherhood. I graduated from the Abbey in 2010, reached out to my old varsity baseball coach to volunteer in 2016, and haven’t looked back since.
  • Ask Me About: What it is really like to be an Abbey student, both then and now!
