Stepping into middle school is a big transition, but at St. Anselm's Abbey School, it is the start of an incredible journey. For students entering grades 6 through 8, our Middle School program isn't just a stepping stone — it is a supportive brotherhood where you can stretch your mind, find your passions, and build the confidence you need to succeed.

The Middle School years are fundamentally about preparation. The Abbey program is intentionally designed to help you build the essential academic skills, study habits, and critical thinking abilities you will need to thrive in our Upper School, in college, and in life. Here, classes push you to ask deeper questions and see the world in new ways, helping you build a foundation of excellence that will serve you forever.
A Brotherhood Where You Are Known
Because of our intentionally small size, every student at the Abbey is known, valued, and celebrated. You will never get lost in the crowd. Instead, you will have immediate opportunities to step up as a leader, try out for a sports team, perform in the arts, and join clubs right from day one. It is incredibly easy to find your people and fit in.
Jump Right In: The Middle School Experience
Middle School is the perfect time to start figuring out exactly where your passions lie — and we give you the space to explore all of them. At the Abbey, you don't have to wait until high school to get involved. From your very first week, you are encouraged to jump in and try everything:
The House System: Get sorted into one of our Houses and team up with students from all grade levels for epic campus-wide competitions, field days, and spirit events.
Athletics for Everyone: Whether you are a seasoned athlete or trying a sport for the first time, our Middle School teams (like soccer, basketball, baseball, and tennis) are the perfect place to get in the game and build your skills.
The Priory Players & The Arts: Step into the spotlight in our theater productions, join the band, or get your hands dirty in the visual arts studio.
Clubs and Passions: From robotics to student government, there is a club for every interest. And if yours doesn't exist yet, you can start it!

Middle school is about figuring out who you are and who you want to be. At the Abbey, you don't have to do it alone.
