How to Apply

Your Journey Starts Here

Applying to a new school is a big step, but we are here to make the process as straightforward and supportive as possible. Whether you are applying to the Middle School or the Upper School, the steps below will guide you and your family through the application process.

Step 1: Experience the Abbey.
Before you apply, we invite you to experience our campus and community firsthand. Check out our Visiting St. Anselm’s page to explore open houses, shadow days, and tour opportunities.

Step 2: Submit Your Initial Application.
To get started, submit your initial application for admission through our online portal (includes a $50 processing fee).

Step 3: Complete Your Application File.
Once your initial application is in, you will use the portal to request and submit your supporting documents. A complete file includes:
  • Recommendations: From your current English and math teachers.
  • Transcripts: Report cards from your current and prior school years.
  • Personal Statement: We want to hear directly from you!
  • Standardized Test Scores: (See specific grade-level details below).
  • Student-Parent Interview: A great chance for us to get to know each other. You can schedule this directly in your portal.
Step 4: Apply for Financial Aid (Optional).
If your family is applying for financial aid, please ensure your application is submitted by February 1, 2027. Visit our Tuition & Financial Aid page for detailed instructions.

Testing Requirements by Grade

Form A (6th Grade) If you are applying for 6th grade, please submit any standardized testing you have taken over the past two years (MAP, ERB, and Scantron are all welcome). Additionally, you will take a brief on-campus entrance test, which you can easily schedule through your portal.

Forms I-IV (7th-10th Grades) Applicants for grades 7-10 are required to take the SSAT. While students who score in the 80th percentile generally find great success here, remember that your test score is just one part of your story!
  • Middle School applicants: Take the Middle Level test.
  • Upper School applicants: Take the Upper Level test.
